Community School Supply Drive

September 2025

In September, Crescent Lake Neighborhood Association (CLNA), Realtor Paige Michaelis, and City’s Bistro came together to host a school supply drive benefiting FUELS. Because of their generosity—and the kindness of everyone who donated—our volunteers were able to deliver supplies during the first week of September to support teachers at St. Petersburg High School and Fairmont Park Elementary.

These supplies are already making a difference in classrooms, easing the financial burden on teachers and helping ensure that students have what they need to thrive.

This is what fueling futures looks like: neighbors supporting schools, businesses stepping up, and volunteers delivering the magic.

Healing Classrooms: A Trauma-Informed + SEL Workshop for our local Tampa Bay Educators

Summer Professional Development Workshops — July 2025

Over four powerful days this summer, FUELS hosted trauma-informed and social-emotional learning workshops for 20 dedicated educators each one walking away with tools, strategies, and inspiration to transform how they support their students. Collectively, these teachers serve more than 950 students across Pre-K through 12th grade classrooms, extending the impact of this training far beyond the workshop walls.

This year’s workshops were made possible by generous partnerships that helped bring our mission to life. We are especially grateful to Chip and Lisa St. Clair of the St. Clair Butterfly Foundation, whose powerful trauma-informed training equipped participants to better understand and respond to the emotional needs of their students. Through their incredible generosity, each participant also received six months of access to the foundation’s Learning Management System, ensuring continued learning and growth.

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to Deanna Stryker, whose engaging and practical sessions provided educators with actionable strategies to take back to their classrooms immediately.

One participant shared, “FUELS is not only supporting us as teachers—they’re supporting our families and our classroom families.”

With trauma-informed practices, SEL tools, and meaningful support in hand, these educators are now better equipped to create safer, more connected learning environments where every student can thrive.

Fueling the Future Fundraiser — August 28, 2024

What an incredible evening! On August 28th, we gathered at Great Explorations Children’s Museum for our Fueling the Future Fundraiser—a night filled with community, celebration, and purpose.

Because of the generosity of our sponsors, donors, and guests, we raised $20,044 to support FUELS’ four core initiatives: Education Essentials, providing vital classroom tools and supplies; Sensory Support, offering inclusive resources for students with unique needs; Care Closets, supplying everyday necessities for students in need; and Professional Development Workshops, equipping educators with the training and tools they need to better support all learners.

From inspiring conversations to exciting auction wins, the evening was a powerful reminder of what happens when a community comes together to support education. We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed their time, talent, and resources to make the night a success.

Because when we support the whole child, we fuel the future.
