DYSCALCULIA
Decoding Dyslexia: Practical Strategies for the Classroom
October 6, 2026 6pm - 7pm
Dyslexia impacts approximately 1 in 5 students, yet it often remains misunderstood in the classroom. This interactive workshop is designed to move beyond theory and provide teachers with a "real world" understanding of how dyslexia manifests in young learners. Participants will discover the neurological roots of dyslexia, identify common "hidden" classroom presentations, and engage in real-life scenarios to practice identification and support. We will finish the session with a deep dive into highly effective assistive technologies and learning tools that support students in bridging the gap between their intelligence and their literacy challenges.

Beyond the Pencil: Navigating Dysgraphia in the Classroom
October 13, 2026 6pm - 7pm
Writing is one of the most complex tasks we ask of the developing brain. For kids with dysgraphia, the "simple" act of putting thoughts onto paper can be an exhausting barrier that impedes learning. This interactive, 60-minute workshop is designed for educators who want to move past the frustration of "messy" handwriting and encourage their students' true written expression. Participants will explore how dysgraphia presents in the classroom, from motor coordination issues to spatial and linguistic challenges. We will dive into a "toolkit" of practical accommodations, multi-sensory strategies, and assistive technology that foster independence and agency. By the end of this session, you’ll have "ready-to-use" strategies to ensure every student can demonstrate what they know, regardless of their ability to hold a pencil.

Numbers that Don't Add Up: Supporting Kids with Dyscalculia
October 20, 6pm- 7pm
Dyscalculia is often called "math dyslexia," but for the 3–6% of students living with it, the challenge goes far deeper than just "being bad at math." It is a neurodevelopmental learning disability that affects a kid's ability to understand number-related concepts, perform accurate calculations, and reason mathematically. Participants will move beyond theory to identify how dyscalculia manifests in the classroom, from "finger counting" to severe math anxiety. Teachers will identify and create solutions in “real life” scenarios and will leave with a toolkit of evidence-based strategies to support academic success and emotional resilience in their students.
